The Arrival of Branwell

As we sit here in the cosiness of the studio, with our lovely Monday group waiting for storm Debi to approach with her 80mph hour winds; we are reflecting on the previous week. There was much excitement on Wednesday as we had a logistically challenging arrival of a massive, old (but a thing of beauty) clicker press; which is now affectionately known as Branwell. A little like how Bob Dylan must have felt when he changed from acoustic to electric guitar; we feel this will revolutionise the way we work.  Previously we have cut out each piece of leather by hand, however this will now mean the press will be able to do this for us and hugely speed up our preparation process. The press came from Woodend Mills in Mossley, where this weekend they will be having an open- studios, which we can highly recommend for a fabulous day out. https://www.facebook.com/woodendstudios/?locale=en_GB

On Saturday we had a great workshop with the lovely Lizzie, who was on her second workshop with us and made the most gorgeous traveller's bag in forest green. If there is someone in your life who would appreciate this as a Christmas gift; we sell gift vouchers in a whole range of denominations which we can post out or you can pick up from the studio.

We are also starting a messenger bag workshop in January starting on the 8th and running for 8 weeks from 7pm-9pm. To purchase gift vouchers or book a place on the messenger bag course, please contact us at cathy@ce-leathergoods.com
